Description


As a P1 (Power of One) Controls Engineer you will assist our sales force with technical expertise for the design of electronic control systems, fluid power systems, and complete customer system integrations. This includes preparing hydraulic schematics, electrical schematics, test procedures, controller selection, programming, and recommend and specify components. You will provide integral project integration expertise for these systems.


The P1 (Power of One) systems integration engineering team is a versatile premier engineering team working on key accounts, complex systems and projects, premier technology and up and coming technology, and driving innovation at customers and within our company.

Essential Functions:
•    Provide technical drawings and schematics of fluid power systems.
•    Design to learn, investigate products and technology, driving innovation on an ongoing basis, and understand how to integrate these technologies seamlessly, in areas such as electrification and hybrid technology, I0T, vision and laser systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical power transmission, and lubrication.
•    Assist with the implementation and adoption of new technologies to internal resources and customers.
•    Develop machine “statement of work” documents for new system proposals. Document the full scope of the control theory of a machine.
•    Assess and innovate equipment and machine designs to newer technologies.
•    Develop business relationships with Industrial, commercial, and government customers – engineers, programmers, designers, etc to create solutions that incorporate our products and systems. 
•    Review product offerings and specify selected products for applications.
•    Propose changes in equipment, processes or use of materials, which would result in cost reduction or operational improvements for the customer.
•    Maintain professional working contact with key suppliers of products sold, supporting vendor products on machine designs, and support innovation/development of future vendor products.
•    Review drawings, plans and other customer documents in order to prepare detailed technical proposals involving products and services offered.
•    Provide technical services to customers relating to the use, operation and maintenance of products represented.
•    Provide technical drawings and schematics of fluid power systems.

Additional responsibilities:
•    Coordinate projects with leadership, sales personnel, branch personnel, and including sales and shop associates.
•    Travel to customer locations occasionally as needed to support design, project management, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.
•    Mechanical hands-on assistance may be required on occasion.

Qualifications: 
•    Degree in engineering. Mechanical or electronic preferred
•    Experience in machine control theory, control strategies, and controls architecture
•    Working knowledge of AutoCAD (or similar 2D CAD software)
•    Ability to read / understand technical drawings

Preferred:
•    Programming in Codesys, C+, and/or Danfoss Plus 1.
•    Electrical controls specialist certification.
•    Experience in Electrification, Hybrid, and/or IoT systems Integration.
•    Utilization of Desault PDM / PLM  file management or similar systems.
•    Working knowledge in Solidworks, 3D CAD (or similar 3D CAD software). Solidworks certification is a plus.
