Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Finance, or a Quantitative-related field required

Work Experiences:

  • 4+ years of experience in analytics (preferably retail, though not required)
  • 3+ years of experience using SQL. Must be able to work with large datasets to gather and analyze data. Competence in SQL is a MUST for this role
  • 2+ years of experience with test and learn methodology preferred
  • 2+ years of experience delivering results to business partners and translating data analysis into narratives and insights

Skills: 

  • Experience using SQL is required. Ability to write complex SQL queries combining multiple sources of data. 
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, R, or Python is a plus. 
  • Competency in gathering, consolidating, and reporting data across varying systems and formats (customer data, share data, and retail transactional data is preferred).
  • Obsession and curiosity about data, customers, our categories, and retail.
  • Effective in working with stakeholders outside of the team to identify hypotheses, structure analysis, recommend solutions, and communicate results. Must be able to explain the impact of results and how they relate to the business.
  • Ability to synthesize datasets to build a compelling story.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex topics for broad business and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to learn quickly and produce high quality work in short periods of time.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand business problems, provide consultative analysis, and recommend insightful and effective solutions in a simple and clear way.
  • Knowledge of probability, common statistics, exploratory data analysis, linear regression, hypothesis testing.
  • Methodical, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to gather, validate and report quantitative information using Excel and PowerPoint. Must be proficient in formulas and pivot tables for Excel, and in charts and tables in PowerPoint.
  • Has working knowledge of test and learn experimentation. Experience constructing tests, selecting test and control groups, and developing measuring plans is a plus.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with manager to develop customer KPIs, analytics, and dashboards/reports.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting from internal and external data sources to monitor company (stores + online) performance as well as identify areas of opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate with various levels of the business from front-line personnel up through executive leadership.
  • Provide actionable insights into business performance through data gathering and manipulation, data modeling, problem solving, and communication of recommendations.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and insights.
  • Deep dive into large data sets to answer key business questions using a wide range of data analytic tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business leaders to address priority strategic questions facing their businesses and to assist in the development of strategic solutions.
  • Recommends optimal business strategies based on historical performance, predictive analytics, and scenario analysis.
  • Closely follow industry trends and competitors to contribute to forward-looking strategies.
  • Learn company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Duties may change; Team Members may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
