The Sr. Strategic Pricing Analyst plays a key role in the day to day function of the Pricing Department, and is responsible for training, executing and managing the promotional and markdown pricing strategies aligned to by the Sr. Director of Pricing, Sr. Manager of Promotion and Markdown Pricing, Buyer and Planner. This position may also be responsible to generate all shelf edge promotional signs and manage the relationship with the third-party vendor. This position is responsible for overall promotional execution and markdown price optimization process based on approved strategies across multiple lines of business. The position is accountable for promotional / markdown pricing integrity (price accuracy) and delivering flawlessly to shelf edge signing and point of sale (POS) systems while assisting the Buyer/Planner meet margin expectations as budgeted. The Sr. Strategic Pricing Analyst is responsible to assure accurate, timely execution of all promotional and markdown price changes, and helps investigate all store price issues with point of sale (POS) and Shelf Edge Signing. Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of related work experience required
  • Courses in management, marketing, finance or economics preferred

Work Experiences:

  • 3+ years experience in a retail, marketing or finance environment preferred

Skills:

  • Proven problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter able to initiate and drive projects to completion
  • High attention to detail with the capacity to meet tight deadlines and stay organized
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
  • Comfortable learning new skills including software applications
  • The ability to work within a team environment
  • Price optimization, Oracle RMS, Structured Query Language/SQL or MS Access are a plus
  • Positive demeanor with a can-do attitude and strong work ethic
  • Communication – effective listening, speaking, reading and writing
  • The ability to train and guide others on the pricing analyst function and strategy
  • Managing vendor relationships
  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

Responsibilities:

  • Train pricing analysts on promotional execution and markdown optimization.
  • May include generation of all shelf edge signing needs and managing vendor relationship
  • Drives all changes for promotional and markdown retail pricing using Revionics, Oracle Retail Price Management (RPM) and OmniEngage software.
  • Act as subject matter expert in Revionics MDO and RPM and work with others in the Pricing and Merchant teams to maintain and drive value from these applications.
  • Owns and delivers promotional execution and markdown price optimization exercises as scheduled and prepares forecast reports.
  • Manages relationship with merchant partners to capture approval required to execute promotional and markdown price changes.
  • Audits price changes for accuracy
  • Manage the shelf edge sign support process in conjunction with business needs
  • Analyzes current and future prices along with promotional / advertising flyers to ensure price accuracy (no conflicts) and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinates promotional and markdown price change efforts with merchant and store teams to ensure communication and execution needs are met.
  • Acts as the first level of contact for promotion and markdown pricing inquiries coming from the stores, analyzes the situation and decides on corrective actions.
  • Determines markdown pricing best practices related to RPM and other price execution processes.
  • Monitors promotional and markdown price change submissions and checks for proper format and timeline compliance.
  • Runs reports / analyzes data necessary to perform the job.
  • Leads or participates in ad hoc projects as required.
  • Required to learn company policies, procedures and safety rules
