The Senior Developer IT Digital will play a pivotal role in driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution for Academy Sports + Outdoors. As a key member of the IT team, you will design and implement scalable, high-performance solutions for the company's e-commerce, supply chain, and omnichannel retail operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative systems and ensure alignment with the company's business objectives. Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field of study preferred

Work Experiences:

  • 7+ years of proven experience building sophisticated applications and APIs in cloud and hybrid cloud environments at large scale preferably in Java and React JS.
  • 7+ years of strong background of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
  • 5+ years of experience in various technology platforms and frameworks, both front-end and back-end that include React or Angular, JAVA, /J2EE, Webservices (REST), Design Patterns, Microservices Architecture & Micro Frontends.
  • Experience with a 500+ million revenue e-commerce retailer preferred

Skills:

  • Expert knowledge building Responsive websites, Client-side scripting, Content Stack Systems using ReactJS, NodeJS, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, XML, JSON, and tools such as Babel, Gulp, Webpack, NPM, etc.
  • Expert knowledge of REST/Spring Boot Java Development, Pub/Sub Design Patterns, EAI, API integration.
  • Expert knowledge of Google Cloud or AWS Cloud Technologies (As a compute and not a SAAS)
  • Expert Knowledge of Microservices Development using Spring boot.
  • Expert Knowledge of SQL, Scripting languages, RDBMS, JavaScript, React framework.
  • Understanding of project management and the software development lifecycle is needed
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internal and external
  • Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git, bitbucket
  • Ability to work in Onshore/Offshore model
  • Strong Microsoft Office program experience, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proven understanding of design patterns, reference architectures, industry standards, broad technical knowledge, and architectural principles is necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor, and work well independently is essential

Technical Skills

  • React.js, Node.js, Next JS, Micro Front-End architecture, Typescript, Graph QL, Bootstrap.js, HTML5, XML, CSS3, JavaScript, Java, REST services, NoSql technologies (Firestore, Cassandra/Mongo DB), Spring boot, Kafka/MQ, Redis, Splunk, GCP / AWS, Prometheus/Grafana, Git, Jira, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Leadership: Define the overall technical architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability across platforms.
  • Technology Strategy: Stay ahead of industry trends and recommend technologies to enhance business value.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with product managers, stakeholders, and developers to deliver seamless customer experiences.
  • Code Quality: Oversee and maintain high standards for code review, development, and deployment processes.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to engineers, fostering a culture of growth, learning, and collaboration.
  • Project Delivery: Drive end-to-end technical execution for large, complex projects, ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve bottlenecks in application performance and scalability.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all solutions meet regulatory, legal, and internal compliance standards.
  • Design and develop solutions using Agile SDLC process
  • Ability to estimate financial impact of technical architecture alternatives and apply multiple technical solutions to business problems is vital
  • Demonstrated ability to provide and recommend innovative ideas with the skill to align projects with enterprise strategy is needed
  • Ability to use key tools to dive deep and provide analysis consistently on performance metrics
  • Troubleshooting and organizational skills with a can-do attitude and the ability to adjust to changing requirements is necessary
  • Responsibilities may change, Team Member may be required to perform other tasks as assigned.
