About the Role

At Alcoa, we're committed to minimising our operational footprint and enhancing environmental performance as we continue to grow and modernise our operations. With a range of innovative capital projects underway, we're seeking a detail-oriented Contracts Manager to help deliver a diverse and impactful project portfolio.

In this role, reporting to our Director of Global Capital Procurement, you'll lead the development and execution of strategic contract initiatives across the full project lifecycle - from early planning and execution through to post-project review. You'll provide commercial guidance to project teams and ensure alignment with broader business objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as Alcoa's primary representative, making timely and informed decisions within contractual boundaries to safeguard the company's interests.

  • Collaborating closely with Project Managers and on-site project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Leading the formulation and implementation of procurement and contracting strategies for assigned capital projects.

  • Communicating proactively with suppliers to support the execution of contract deliverables in alignment with all agreed requirements, including legislation, Alcoa's E&HS policies, technical specifications, engineering standards, project timelines, and performance criteria.

  • Monitoring and reporting on contractual obligations for both Alcoa and its suppliers throughout the project lifecycle, including updates to the Project Team, Steering Committee, and Senior Panel.

  • Coordinating input from relevant Alcoa subject matter experts including Engineering, EH&S, Legal, Risk, Operations to ensure all correspondence is accurate, complete, and delivered within required timeframes.

You'll have the flexibility to choose your primary work location from either our new Perth HQ or our Bindjareb office in Pinjarra while benefiting from our Flexibility First model, which supports a balanced hybrid arrangement between working remotely and on-site.

What you can bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Law or equivalent in construction related field is required.

  • A strong background in contract management, successfully having managed an EPC, Design & Construct, Construction or Major Civil contracts within a similar industry.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in time-sensitive environments, with a strong focus on detail, proactive collaboration, and delivering practical solutions.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail with a solution focused mindset and driven by results.

  • Well-developed negotiating, critical thinking, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for success in this role.
