About the role:

This opportunity within our global External Affairs and Sustainability team supports strategic engagement on all operational matters and influences policy for present and future needs. Reporting to our Director, Strategy & Policy, you will partner with senior management to provide advanced intelligence, analysis and recommendations on emerging policy and developments of relevance across the globe, driving positive change and informing strategic decision-making.

Washington, D.C. is the preferred location for the position, but we are open to other locations in the Americas and Europe.

Working closely with the Director, Strategy & Policy, key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Conduct research and support analysis for policy team projects, as well as contribute to issue briefs explaining the political and policy dynamics of a diverse range of public policy issues.
  • Lead cross-functional policy analysis.
  • Lead global stakeholder mapping and engagement planning.
  • Provide input for internal and external reporting on external/government affairs.
  • Synthesize complex information from various sources.
  • Track and monitor legislation and regulations.
  • Lead relevant projects.
  • Create effective briefing materials, including memos/PowerPoint decks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across different regions in the delivery of the global government affairs strategy.
  • Manage global governance for external engagement (voluntary organizations and industry associations).
  • Lead development for policy positions and create advocacy strategies.

What you can bring to this role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Broad experience in government and stakeholder engagement with a focus on industrial and sustainability policies.
  • Experience in climate, trade, or energy policy is preferred but not required.
  • An excellent track record of operating at a senior level within a global or other relevant organization.
  • A strategic and proactive mindset skilled in tailoring plans and goals to ensure business objectives are optimally achieved.
  • Ability to effectively lead internal and external audiences to desired outcomes through diplomacy, influence, communication skills and natural leadership.
  • The position will require <25% travel.
