CRH Canada is currently hiring a Land & Environmental Coordinator to join their growing team!

 

The Land & Environment Coordinator will provide support to: CRH's land management portfolio; environmental reporting to CRH Global and government authorities as required; the implementation and compliance of Environmental Compliance Approval requirements (including water, air, and noise) for Ontario Materials (Dufferin Aggregates, Dufferin Concrete, and Dufferin Asphalt).   
Reporting to the Manager Land & Environment and dotted line to Director of Approvals and the Land & Environment Specialist

Position: Land & Environmental Coordinator
Term: Contract – Maternity Leave  
Location: Concord Regional Office 
Start Date: July- August 2024


Job Responsibilities: 
•    Support environmental projects and programs of the Ontario Materials business.
•    Support environmental compliance monitoring programs focused on water and air.
•    Support project management on approval and environmental projects.
•    Liaison with Ontario Materials Operation, Maintenance and & Engineering teams as required.
•    Support operations on monitoring and revise as necessary Ontario Materials environmental management system.
•    Conduct field tasks with responsibility of managing consultants.
•    Ability to prepare and interpret maps.
•    Contract administration and invoice payment processing through SAP.
•    Participate in data collection for internal and external environmental reporting requirements. 
•    Management of tenants and farmland leases on respective properties. 
•    Maintain and support CRH's land management system. 
•    Support planning applications, appeals, amendments, and liaison with municipal and provincial ministries as required.
•    Support the review and preparation of comments on municipal and provincial policy.
•    Basic understanding of provincial legislation, office plans, zoning bylaws and local policy framework.
•    Support the development of strategies to protect CRH's operations under existing and future environment and planning regulations. 
•    Periodic travel to all Ontario Materials sites across Ontario.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Requirements include: 
•    Bachelor's degree in a planning, geology, biology, hydrogeology, or environmental science.  
•    Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. 
•    Ability to carry out field work and light lifting. 
•    Demonstrated working knowledge of Ontario planning legislation and policies as well as environmental approvals.
•    Strong project management, computer skills (Microsoft Office), AutoCAD and problem-solving skills. 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
•    Valid driver's license
