JOB DETAILS:
- Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
- Onsite/Hybrid: This role require the student to work full time (40 hours a week), onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.
- Duration: May 5, 2025 to April 24, 2026
The Libraries group in AMD AI GPU Software (AGS) builds the GPU-accelerated, open-source math and communication libraries that power artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications on workstations, data centers, and super computers.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
As a co-op student, you will be working with our software development teams on GPU-accelerated libraries in our open source ROCm software platform (https://github.com/ROCmSoftwarePlatform).
- Work and learn from experienced software developers
- Develop new featues
- Test and solve problems on the newest AMD GPUs
- Support machine learning and high-performance applications for workstations, data center servers, and super computers
- Software development techniques and algorithms for high-performance computing
- GPU on AMD GPUs
- Best practices for open-source development
- Technical skills for programming in C++, HIP, and Python
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- You are currently enrolled in a Canada based University in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- If you have knowledge/experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to
apply –- Coursework on algorithms and software development
- Strong C++ programming
- Experience working on a command line interface
- Familiarity with Linux OS distros
- Strong mathematical skills
- Knowledge of GPU programming is a plus
