AMD Developer Community Platform Manager

 

THE ROLE:

As a Developer Community Platform Manager, you'll be responsible for outreach and engagement with developers on AMD discussion forums/platforms. Your goal is to empower growth of developers who are influential within technical communities, advocacy, and knowledge sharing within these communities. You'll act as a bridge between the global community of developers on AMD platforms and internal teams, ensuring a seamless exchange of insights and resources. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of community platforms like Discourse/Discord, and community management best practices. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a highly dynamic environment. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Community outreach and influence on AMD discussion platforms:
    • Empower key developers in the community and identify leaders and advocates to evangelize the AMD brand
    • Execute real-time community feedback loops, ensuring timely response to valid community queries 
    • Liaise with business units' SMEs to deliver data driven content and responses to community
    • Promote key community members to provide peer-to-peer support and guidance
    • Support internal AMD teams with strategy and guidance on content creation
    • Contribute to internal knowledge base to enable community teams to engage with community swiftly and competently
  • Onboarding and Engagement:
    • New member onboarding programs and processes
    • Support community outreach activities like AMD Dev Events, meetups, etc.
    • Develop external awareness across other channels including social platforms and organic search
  • ROI Evaluation and Reporting:
    • Assess the community's pulse, understand its needs, and concerns, and communicate to internal teams to improve the community members' experience including strategic partnership opportunities
    • Create a regular cadence of dashboards, reporting, and analysis to gauge the health and performance of the community and provide data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven Community Management Experience: Previous involvement in developer communities is a plus (Reddit, Github, other Open-source communities)
  • Familiarity with developer tools, languages, and frameworks and discussion forums like Discord and Discourse
  • Strong understanding of AI, software and/or hardware development processes and technologies
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of SEO and content marketing strategies
  • Ability to create engaging and informative content tailored to a developer audience
  • Experience with event planning and execution is a plus
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Flexibility and agility to deal with ambiguity

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • A relevant degree such as Bachelor's or College Degree in Computer Science or related fields
