AMD Embedded is seeking a strategic and analytically driven Senior Manager, Profit Maximization to lead gross margin improvement efforts across pricing, product mix, commercial terms, and across the entire scope of the financial performance and margin contribution of AMD Embedded's product portfolio—across segments, SKUs, and customer types. This role is central to embedding margin discipline across the business and driving scalable, predictable profitability.

 

Success in this role requires a strong ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders—including Sales, Product Planning, R&D, Operations, and Finance—to align on margin-first decisions and execute structural improvements that enhance profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of gross margin improvement strategies across product mix, pricing corridors, and commercial terms.
  • Build and maintain margin bridges, leakage dashboards, and profitability heatmaps.
  • Recommend pricing actions and portfolio adjustments to address low-margin segments and unprofitable product tails.
  • Provide strategic guidance on long-term agreements.
  • Collaborate with Finance to align pricing actions with financial forecasts and planning cycles.
  • Partner with upstream functions to embed margin accountability into product lifecycle and supply chain decisions.
  • Work with Operations on Value Added Service strategy & execution.
  • Manage and coordinate cross-departmental projects, ensuring alignment on timelines, deliverables, and accountability across multiple functions.
Core Deliverables
  • Quarterly margin improvement plans and execution scorecards.
  • Leakage reduction action plans with named owners.
  • Portfolio profitability analysis and recommendations.
  • Commercial terms economics guide and playbooks.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Gross margin uplift vs. plan (bps).
  • Margin leakage reduction ($/bps).
  • Cross-functional adoption of margin-first practices.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years in pricing, commercial finance, or profitability management.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives.
  • Strong influencing skills with demonstrated success driving change across matrixed organizations.
  • Deep understanding of factors driving semiconductor profitability.
  • Competency in basic project management principles, including planning, stakeholder coordination, and progress tracking.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in semiconductors, embedded systems, or high-complexity B2B environments.
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics, and margin modeling.
  • Executive presence and ability to communicate complex economics to senior leadership.
