THE ROLE:  

Global Cluster Engineering (GCE) at AMD has a unique opportunity for a Cluster Architecture Documentation Engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with business, design, platform validation, and product engineering teams to create internal and external technical documentation for AMD's next-generation Data Center GPU clusters.

THE PERSON:  

The candidate should be a dynamic, innovative individual who has demonstrated success in both technical content creation and project management, with strong written and verbal communication skills. A willingness to learn about new technologies and find workarounds to technical challenges is highly valued.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Create clear, effective, user-focused technical documentation for highly technical audiences
• Promote cross-team collaboration and engagement among global subject matter experts, marketing, and technical support staff
• Understand and promote usability and product goals
• Effectively plan and track projects, and capably report project status and issues both up and down in the organization

• Manage multiple projects through shifting priorities and deadlines
• Adhere to established technical writing standards

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

• Experience writing technical documentation for a major product, product suite, or technology
• Ability to work in Linux/Unix as well as Windows based systems.
• Comfortable working in the command line of remote systems to validate steps for tool installation, configuration, and GPU benchmarking.
• Experience managing multiple projects using collaborative platforms (e.g., Confluence, Jira)
• Highly motivated to seek out solutions and willing to learn new skills to fulfill job requirements
• Excellent writing skills in the English language, editing and organizational skills required

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

• Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC), Cluster Networks
• Experience with GPU communication libraries
• Understanding of IT Infrastructure such as servers, networking, storage, operating systems, etc.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

• BA in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
