THE ROLE:

ATE Test director is responsible for the end-to-end ATE test solutions for a next-generation AMD Product.  This position requires engagement with Product, Design, Platform Engineering, Device Analysis, Foundry, Quality and Reliability Engineering to meet quality, performance, and reliability standards while driving innovation in methodologies and manufacturing processes. The role will lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with design and operations, and optimize strategies/ efficiency to enhance yield, reduce test costs, and accelerate time-to-market.

 

THE PERSON:

This role is pivotal as a key leadership responsible for developing ATE test solutions for our next generation products. The ideal candidate will have a strong practical background & technical leadership in semiconductor ATE test development, with a proven track record of delivering scalable and innovative solutions. This position requires a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise to ensure optimal solutions in delivering product semiconductor ATE test solutions.

 

The candidate should ensure value generation for internal/external customers & ensure deployment of state-of-the-art processes, methods and tools. He or she should have a mind to foster productivity, drive innovation and pursue continuous improvements. The candidate should ensure quality of deliverables, engage in active discussions and drive decisions by involving relevant stakeholders.

 

The candidate will be leading a team of 70+ engineers and managers from diverse backgrounds with strong technical know-how and is expected to lead, mentor, and scale ATE teams. The candidates will build succession plans, capability roadmaps, and technical depth across critical test domains. He/She has to set clear expectations, performance goals, and development plans for managers and senior technical staff.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for pre-Si planning & post-Si execution of ATE test development for 2 product groups.
  • Lead a team of 70+ engineers and managers from diverse backgrounds with strong technical know-how.
  • Drive team vision and strategy in accordance with company directions.
  • Define and collaborate with design on strategic roadmap for product engineering to achieve FTR (First Time Right) quality of ATE test patterns in a time-bound approach.
  • Define and execute product engineering strategies, ensuring robust design validation and characterization.
  • Accountable for ATE test readiness at each NPI milestone, including new silicon intercept, silicon bring up, characterization, qualification, and HVM ramp.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, verification, test, product engineering, software and operations teams, to drive test solutions that meet product manufacturability, testability quality, reliability and product cost attainment goals for the business
  • Optimize project resource allocation by supporting multiple product families at a time. Foster reuse, referencing and economy of scale to achieve higher productivity. Free-up resources to be prepared in time for new challenges, technologies and products.
  • Drive test programs optimization for yield improvement and test time reduction.
  • Work closely with OSAT (outsourced assembly and test), and internal manufacturing teams to ensure high-quality production.
  • Implement data analytics and machine learning techniques to enhance test efficiency.
  • Drive the adoption of AI/ML and other advanced technologies to improve productivity
  • Drive end to end ATE test strategy across wafer sort and final test that are aligned with product roadmaps and business priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and ISO standards

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 20 years of experience in the Semiconductor industry
  • Experience must include technical and specialized knowledge in the areas below:
    • Strong DFT and ATE test methodologies
  • Proven experience in product qualification, characterization and ATE test engineering, including the deployment of outsourcing. Test lead experience of more than 5 full product cycle is preferred.
    • Deep understanding of product development lifecycles and ATE testing methodologies.
  • Strong background, interest & proven results in leveraging ML & AI
  • Strong people management, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Leadership skills with a track record of managing multidisciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Openness to new ideas and changes based on new dynamics.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor/Master in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
