THE ROLE:

AMD is searching for a Director, Silicon Design Engineering to lead the global Security IP (SECIP) organization. This team is responsible for designing and implementing a large number of individual embedded micro-processor (MP) subsystems and associated hardware. These subsystem IPs provide high performance functions to System on Chip (SoC) products across all AMD business units such as client computers, servers, discrete graphics, and gaming. Our design and verification engineers work on block level RTL design and/or subsystem level integration for a variety of embedded MP subsystems. Your leadership will impact security policy management, cryptography, data compression, high throughput DMA, power management, and many other subsystem applications.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in leading digital logic design and verification of embedded microprocessors, accelerators, and security subsystems. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD. The candidate must have excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem solving skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and grow a global team of engineers working on Security IP hardware development and implementation
• Understand overall AMD SOC security subsystem and architecture and translate high level goals to measurable plans and milestones.
• Oversee RTL design, verification, Front End Integration, quality checks, and manage schedule for on-time delivery of key IPs.
• Interface with SOC teams and manage schedule and delivery of IPs for successful TO
• Enable and direct management team and oversee overall team development and progression

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in managing and leading a large engineering organization
• Foundation in SOC micro-architecture and design with experience in one or more of the following: embedded microprocessors, security subsystems, accelerators and cryptographic co-processors
• ASIC design flow and direct experience with ASIC design in sub-7nm technology nodes. 
• Experience using industry standard tools and adaptability to utilize home grown tools.
• Good understanding of computer organization/architecture.
• Must be a self-starter and able to independently drive tasks to completion.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS, MS or equivalent with direct experience
