THE ROLE:
In this position, you will play a crucial role in advancing our firmware development efforts, driving innovation and excellence in our products. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate and enhance the current state of our firmware landscape, identifying opportunities for performance improvements and feature expansions. This will require a deep understanding of firmware design, architecture, and system integration, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across various technical teams.
A key aspect of this role involves a robust capability to debug complex firmware and system-level issues. You will be expected to utilize advanced debugging tools and methodologies to swiftly identify and resolve problems, ensuring the reliability and performance of our products. Your experience in system-level programming and understanding of hardware-software interactions will be vital in diagnosing and fixing intricate issues that may arise.

As a pivotal figure in our firmware development team, focused on the security region, you will spearhead the design and implementation of advanced firmware solutions that enhance the security and resilience of our products. You will play a key role in collaborating with internal teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and security specialists, to ensure seamless and secure integration of firmware components within our systems.
Your role involves working with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative firmware features that address critical system-level security challenges, enhancing the protection of our product range. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in Firmware Security Design: Support the definition and implementation of firmware security requirements under the guidance of senior engineers to improve system protection.
- Cross-Functional Support: Contribute to efforts alongside various teams to integrate safety components across projects and solutions.
- Building Collaborative Partnerships: Assist in managing partnerships within the ecosystem to reinforce security features, learning from interactions with experienced colleagues.
- Support System Design and Development: Participate in the design, development, optimization, tuning, and testing of security systems at an entry-level, gaining expertise progressively.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Cultivate relationships with program stakeholders and development partners through active participation in team efforts and communication.
- Effective Communication: Develop communication skills to effectively relay status updates to senior team members and internal audiences.
- Contribute to Technical Innovation: Support the development of innovative tools, scripts, and methodologies that advance firmware security validation processes.
- Assist in Issue Debugging: Provide support in identifying and resolving security issues during various phases, including process, bring-up, validation, and production of SOC programs.
- Feature Validation Participation: Collaborate with teams to ensure security features are validated and optimized, contributing to overall project timelines.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Recent years of semiconductor industry experience including at least five years focused on system engineering and Security
- Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python)
- Debug techniques and methodologies
- Extensive experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Extensive experience with board/platform-level debugging, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization
- Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details
- Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
- Depth and expertise in Security technologies
- Depth and expertise in PC user experience with respect to security
- Speak firmware and software language
- Understand PC system level impacts of security functions
- Ensure system assessments and customer platform attainment to deliver industry best products
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant discipline
- Master's Degree (MS) preferred
