THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a high‑impact team building AMD's diagnostics software suite critical tools that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our products across a wide range of platforms.

In this role, you will shape technical direction, drive execution, and deliver diagnostics solutions used throughout product bring‑up, validation, and manufacturing. You'll work closely with senior engineers, architects, and cross‑functional partners across hardware, validation, and product teams, operating in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment where your leadership directly impacts AMD's ability to deliver world‑class technology.

THE PERSON:

You are a hands‑on technical leader who enjoys building strong engineering teams and delivering high‑quality software at scale. You bring clarity to complex challenges, balance execution with long‑term strategy, and are comfortable leading both people and technical initiatives.

You communicate effectively across disciplines, thrive in a global, matrixed organization, and care deeply about fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and engineering excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and mentor a fast‑moving diagnostics software engineering team, driving alignment, execution, and delivery.
  • Define and evolve the technical roadmap for diagnostics tools and frameworks in partnership with senior engineers and architects.
  • Translate product and engineering requirements into clear backlogs, schedules, and execution plans.
  • Establish and refine software development processes across the full lifecycle, from design through release.
  • Drive strong technical decision‑making around architecture, technology selection, and implementation.
  • Own delivery commitments by tracking progress, managing risks, and communicating clearly with stakeholders.
  • Define and monitor key engineering metrics to continuously improve software quality, reliability, and productivity.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, validation, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure diagnostics solutions meet performance, quality, and usability needs.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience managing software engineering teams and delivering complex, production‑level software.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices across the full development lifecycle.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with end‑to‑end software development in a hardware‑centric or systems environment.
  • Knowledge of silicon IPs or chip hardware blocks and their associated product lifecycles.
  • Background in diagnostics, validation tools, manufacturing test, or system bring‑up.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
