THE ROLE:  

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and creative leader who will be responsible for managing, leading, and developing an engineering team that is working with pre- and post-silicon hardware, software, and diagnostic teams to help ensure silicon success and rapid silicon validation of our products. 

 

The DEAE team is looking for a manager to join our team responsible for engineering collaboration with VMware development, solution, and product teams to enable, validate, debug, and support AMD's EPYC processors with VMware's products and solutions.

 THE PERSON:  

Strong communication and team-working skills are essential, with a validated ability to lead and influence. Validated experience inspiring change and working across functions and geographies to deliver products to specific critical metrics.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Collaborate with AMD and VMware architects, Field Engineers, Partners and Customers to identify areas of integrations/enhancements/performance between AMD EPYC and VMware products.
  • Work with stakeholders across companies to implement identified improvements end to end.
  • Drive creation and publication of validated AMD EPYC based solutions on VMware product stack to drive customer adoption.
  • Manage customer expectations and help resolve escalations within SLAs.
  • Promote VMware on EPYC solutions to groups within and outside of AMD.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Support and Sales organizations for POCs targeting key customers.
  • Present technical and strategic updates to senior management, peers, and engineering teams.
  • Give innovative technical insight to development strategies, priorities, and approaches.
  • Develop, coach and mentor technical staff.
  • Management of a team of 10 engineers, including mentoring and providing technical guidance  

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Strong organization and communication skills with a proven track record of end-to-end project delivery
  • Experience managing engineering teams with high volume of tasks
  • Good understanding of the workings of computer hardware subsystems, including Processors, Memory, Networking and Storage, in virtualized and non-virtualized environments.
  • Experience in VMware product stack is preferred including vSphere, VSAN, NSX-T, VCF and VMware TCP.
  • Deep understanding of the private cloud market, customer and partner ecosystem.
  • Experience in driving solutions end-to-end with partners and OEMs
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills 
  • Prior, preferably recent, experience working within the Semiconductor industry blending both engineering expertise with team leadership skills  
  • Experience with pre- or post-silicon verification/validation, power, and performance analysis  
  • Experience with emulation is nice to have  

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline preferred
