THE ROLE: 

AMD is looking for a software development engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of real-time graphics. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.  

 

THE PERSON: 

You are passionate about real-time graphics with problem solving skills to drive technical issues to resolution. You will be embedded with team so the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with various different teams across AMD is key

 

This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in a high-performance environment and are eager to contribute to the development of cutting-edge GPU technologies that power gaming, professional graphics, and compute workloads.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize 3D graphics and GPU compute solutions using APIs such as Direct3D and Vulkan.
  • Develop and maintain GPU shaders and contribute to the evolution of AMD's graphics pipeline.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration and performance tuning across AMD's GPU architecture.
  • Debug and profile complex software issues using industry-standard tools and AMD's internal developer tooling.
  • Analyze GPU ISA to identify performance bottlenecks and improve system efficiency.
  • Work within modern software development workflows including Git, CMake, Python and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Share technical expertise across teams and continuously learn new technologies relevant to AMD's evolving product landscape.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Programming background, working with graphics APIs and writing own clear APIs, C and/or C++ preferred 
  • Graphics pipeline development
  • Experience with algorithm development
  • Experience with GPU programming APIs (DirectX 12, CUDA, etc.)
  • Working understanding of image-based Machine Learning fundamentals
  • Working experience with inference optimization
  • Experience writing high quality code with keen attention to detail, following applicable coding standards
  • Experience in compilers, 3D graphics or GPGPU drivers or related low-level, real-time performance SW development
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating system development  
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills in English

 

 

 ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Degree in Computer Science or related subject
