Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS IT Engineer to Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations. Provide technical/system support to Engineering and Corporate organizations at AMD.  Support AMD's global cloud infrastructure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.  Install, configure, maintain, tune and troubleshoot Infrastructure.  Install, configure, maintain, tune and troubleshoot the native cloud virtual machines in Azure, GCP, AWS and OCI.  Install and configure software, upgrade and do patch maintenance. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems. Manage configurations of virtual machines and hypervisors.  Provide assistance to the user community by answering questions, troubleshooting problems and providing informal one-on-one training when needed.  Work on helpdesk tickets to meet service level objectives.  Support the asset management processes to ensure all assets are registered appropriately.  Gain understanding of Global IT policies, processes, and procedures in areas like asset management, client security and ensure a high degree of compliance.  Design, configure, and test hardware, networking software, and/or operating system software.  Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems.  Contribute to evolving standard operating procedures with a focus on problem avoidance.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, I.T., or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related IT Engineer, Systems Analyst, or Systems Administrator role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, I.T., or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or closely related IT Engineer, Systems Analyst, or Systems Administrator role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires three (3) years of experience in the following:

  • Designing and deploying software in Unix or Linux environments;
  • Troubleshooting and deploying applications on hypervisors including VMware, KVM, and cloud-based infrastructure;
  • Programming for automation using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Puppet, or cloud_init;
  • Server systems;
  • Monitoring hyperscaler performance in virtual machines;
  • Cloud Service Providers (Azure, GCP, AWS, or OCI); and
  • Provisioning compute hardware with operating systems.
