THE ROLE: 

This is a specialized engineering position responsible for Product Engineering program technical planning for next-generation AMD microprocessors. This individual serves as a critical technical point of contact to the business, design, platform validation and product engineering teams. THE PERSON: 

You will provide technical supervision or mentoring to junior engineers and influence others as a subject matter expert. A successful candidate is one who can drive technical decisions independently, has accountability for accuracy, reliability and completeness of assignment results critical to the project's success. This role allows the opportunity to influence technical decisions that have a significant impact on multiple products or the product line.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Ensure board design and components are meeting the Quality & Reliability requirement. 
• Ensure and drive ODM conduct reliability testing, including accelerated life testing, environmental stress testing and failure analysis across different development phases to evaluate product robustness before external customer shipment.
• Chair quality meeting to drive 8D formats for problem solving, work with cross-functional teams to ensure root cause analysis, corrective & preventive actions are documented.
• Monitor product quality performance through measurement of manufacturing yield and work with responsible team member to drive for improvement through quality forum.
• Defines First Article Inspection acceptance criteria and ongoing inspection criteria with assistance from engineering team.
• Collaborate with ODMs quality team to define Audit cadence and conduct process audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance to ISO9001.
• Ensure no gap for ODMs QMS, not limited to process control plan, ESD qualified environment, shop floor traceability and machines CpK and GR&R.
• Published quality indicator/dashboard monthly and work with ODMs/ respective functional team to drive for long-term improvement.
• Setting a clear quality expectation and requirement with subcon through quality plan.
• Driving zero defects and DOA for key indicators
• Conduct MRB meeting for IQA findings.
• Lead activities and drive ODM to improve yield and reduce RMAs
• Drive Proactive Continuous Improvement on Yield & Quality Metrics
• Ensure effectiveness of FMEA & CAPA
• Driving the cross-functional team to deliver continual improvement activities for internal processes deliverables.
• Define audits and surveys to ensure that all suppliers are meeting our business requirements to include flow down and quality standards.
• Ability to execute supplier audit activities related to both validation and on-going management of quality execution capabilities.
• Supplier Performance Management and Development
• Monitoring, report and support of supplier quality metrics and performance. Responsible for supporting supplier corrective action and continuous improvement activities.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Experience in PCBA and system build and quality control processes to ensure good quality product ship to internal and external customers.
• Experience to drive task force and lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex root cause excursions.  
• Experience to drive the quality forum and supplier to meet quality indicator.
• Experience in material failure analysis ( eg: Dye Pry and cross section). 
• Able perform technical risk assessment of the product and identify techical risk and drive for closure. 
• Statistical analysis experience to resolve quality excursion through DOE.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor's or Master's in computer engineering or computer science or electrical engineering, or comparable disciplines.
