THE ROLE:
Senior level Signal and Power Integrity/PCB Layout Engineer focused on AMD CPU/APU Client SOC infrastructure simulation analysis and PCB Layout working on both external and internal platforms.
THE PERSON:
The individual must have the expertise to execute in the following areas:
- In-depth knowledge of transmission lines, RF design, EM theory, and related disciplines
- Familiarity with industry High Speed standard interfaces (PCIe, DDR/LPDDR, USB)
- In-depth knowledge of PCB power delivery
- Proficient in Type 3 and Type 4 PCB Layout
- In-depth knowledge of PCB technology, stack up, material, high volume variations, fabrication, and PCBA assembly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as an Electrical Engineering Simulation resource for AMD Client and Graphics based infrastructure.
- Participate in Internal Platform/Board design definition, simulation, and review for High-Speed routing and Power delivery, executing PCB Layout.
- Participate in Customer Platform/Board design definition, simulation, and review for High-Speed routing and Power delivery.
- Proactively driving continuous improvement for pre and post-silicon Customer Engineering Simulation specification and guidance generation over generation
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Prior recent years of experience
- Excellent PC Motherboard/System design and development experience
- Experience with SI software such as Anasys HFSS 3D, legacy HFSS, SIWave, RaptorH Q3d, Hyperlynx, Keysight ADS, Clarity, Sigrity
- Experience with industry standard Power SI software
- Extensive Experience with Cadence PCB Design Tool Suite
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related fields
Preferred location is Austin, TX, will also consider Santa Clara/Bay area
