PERFORMANCE TOOLS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
The performance tools developers design, build and maintain a world-class workload automation, profiling and reporting framework for running large scale, GPU-enabled data center applications. The developers create a system to provision, run, monitor and analyze workloads used in supercomputing, academia and the largest data centers on the planet. They also design and develop web applications that enable users to sift through mountains of AI and HPC performance data and create insightful, graphically rich reports.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build, enhance and maintain a web-based front-end workload submission based on user requests and user interactions
- Enable scalability and performance with Azure Cloud based Web-App deployments
- Enable logging, monitoring and troubleshooting using Azure monitoring
- Improve features in the web application that allows users to search, retrieve, display and most importantly provide a self-service portal for performance reports
- Build a reporting system that automates the process of creating informative tables and graphs for engineers, business units and their management
- Develop scripted automation and AI-agents for front-end interactions
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of Javascript experience, React preferred
- UI/UX experience and direct interaction with users
- Strong MS Azure web-app delivery experience
- Strong Linux experience
- Experience with web application development frameworks and CSS/HTML programming
- Python experience preferred
- Inquiring mind with efficiency mentality
- Good to have
- Experience with data visualization tools, including Plotly, Matplotlib, Pandas
- Experience with REST API development
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with Ansible for workload automation
- Nice to have
- Experience with Grafana or similar
- Experience with Jupyter and Jupyter Hub
- Experience with Docker Swarm
- Experience with GitHub
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
