THE ROLE:
The Yield team is a dedicated group that supports the development of high-quality Graphics, AI, CPU, and APU products. Their primary objectives are to reduce manufacturing costs, enhance product quality, and ensure timely delivery to market in a consistent and predictable manner. The Yield Engineer is responsible for identifying effective solutions to complex challenges and driving ongoing improvements in yield, with particular emphasis on end-to-end yields and quality standards. This position requires robust troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, as well as technical leadership and innovative thinking.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Exceptional data analytic skills and ability to leverage advanced AI/ML techniques
- Ability to design experiments and analyze results to solve problems
- Ability to collaborate and influence outside teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment
- Knowledge of semiconductor device physics or semiconductor manufacturing is an asset
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct in-depth investigation and analysis to identify and eliminate causes of outlier die as well as systematic and random yield loss for both sort and packaged parts.
- Ensure that correct product testing is performed on AMD products for optimal yield, performance, and quality
- Perform deep level analysis to find hidden signals and drive resolution.
- Lead complex debug activities
- Coordinate with teammates and product test teams to support quick in-depth product test program debug
- Engineers will be expected to bring a great deal of innovation and creativity to the role.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- A BSc, BSEE, or a degree in Math plus 3 or more years of related experience
- Strong data analysis skills are required to be effective in this role.
