THE ROLE:
The Server Product Marketing Project Manager will manage business planning and execution of key programs for the Business Management team. A primary focus for this role will be managing projects through the recently deployed IBM Planning Analytics (PA) application. In this highly collaborative role, you will work daily with Operations, IT, Engineering, Business Development, and Product leads scaling PA adoption.

 

THE PERSON:
A successful candidate will demonstrate the multifunctional ability to develop, enhance, and drive business programs and associated tooling with partners across the Server Business Unit and AMD. The role requires clear confident communication, a highly analytical approach, and a continuous improvement mindset. You will work cross-organizationally to enhance programs, streamline executive decision making and analysis, and have a natural inclination to solve inefficiencies with simplified, automated solutions at scale.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize project management skills to manage weekly team meetings, timelines, status, and complex product interdependencies (engineering and operational)
  • Engage in partnerships with upstream and downstream teams to facilitate collaborative problem-solving, risk assessments, and mitigation planning
  • Lead and participate in solution design, workflow mapping, and requirements gathering sessions
  • Synthesize large amounts of data leveraging other data management tools as needed
  • Subject matter expert in Excel pivot tables, lookups, macros, queries, and data connections
  • Work cross-functionally to understand complex forecast needs and provide tooling recommendations
  • Collaborate with team members to examine future sample requirements against historical baseline
  • Partner with team members to maintain sample forecasts for all products in the product portfolio
  • Drive streamlined and repeatable planning; ensuring a single pane of glass for plans and actuals
  • Deliver aligned sample forecasts such as Plan of Record, Annual Operation Plan and Long-Range Plan
  • Drive disciplined change communications with teams as programs grow and evolve (verbal and written)
  • Support troubleshooting, documentation, and training as needed with business users


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Highly organized and methodical with exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environment where solutions are deployed in an agile framework
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with logical reasoning skills from a business user perspective
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, making order out of chaos, and an enthusiasm for finding efficiencies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to convey technical concepts using business acumen
  • Direct experience managing multi-faceted programs and complex product portfolios
  • User or developer experience in IBM Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics, DataWORQ, and ReportWORQ
  • Intermediate to expert experience with data management and automation (Excel, PY, SQL, VBA, ETLs)
  • Intermediate to expert experience with analytics and storytelling visualizations (Excel, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • IBM PA, Lean, Six Sigma, PMP or other related certifications
  • Previous operations experience within IT, Finance, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing


ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's degree in IT, IS, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or other technical field
