THE ROLE:
Central DFX (CDFX) is a centralized ASIC design group within AMD's Technology and Engineering organization. The group consists of design teams located in several AMD locations in North America and Asia. It is primarily responsible of architecture, design and implementation of critical Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Debug (DFD) features for leading edge AMD products. It is also responsible for DFX design methodology and automation tools development to support the global DFX engineering teams across AMD.
The Program Manager in CDFX will be involved in various aspect of design project management from concept to first silicon bring-up, including interaction with executives and senior management team and internal cross functional teams. The person will be be accountable to drive schedules, resources, status, and cross functional alignment of engineering tasks.
THE PERSON:
As a program manager, you will be working with a diverse team of design engineers and managers from various global design locations to coordinate and drive project execution, and strategic initiatives. Work is strategic in nature but hands-on work on tactical matters is expected. This role provides an excellent growth opportunity for robust individuals looking to make a difference.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define, plan and drive program plans based on management and senior technical guidance; tasks include driving project scoping, budgeting, scheduling and execution progress tracking
- Work with cross-functional IP and SOC design teams on project plan alignment and strategic initiative planning
- Communication is critical part of this role which includes:
- Executive level communications on status, explanation of tactical details and problem resolutions
- Interpreting and understanding business directions, and recommending solutions regarding program situations
- Work with engineering management to drive execution excellence, including key metrics - performance, schedule, cost and quality
- Work collaboratively with AMD Program Management community on continuous process improvement; initiates significant changes to existing processes and methods to improve project and team efficiencies
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Relevant semiconductor product development experience
- Demonstrated leadership and works well with cross-functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge in EDA tools/methodology, such as synthesis, scan-insertion, equivalency checking, static timing analysis is a plus
- Experience managing various medium to large projects, moderate to high complexity (2-3 yrs duration/>50 cross functional team size
- Possesses specialized knowledge plus a broader technical knowledge in areas outside his or her area of expertise.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Minimum B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
