THE ORGANIZATION:

The Physical AI and Vertical Software & Solutions (PAVS) organization is dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Physical AI across robotics, industrial, and automotive markets. PAVS delivers best-in-class vertical software and co-engineered solutions that shorten design cycles for lighthouse customers while improving solution quality and user experience.

 

THE ROLE:

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on the cutting edge of Physical AI solutions. As a senior technical contributor, you will play a key role in driving end-to-end delivery of customer robotics software solutions. Your responsibilities will include defining customer reference architectures, contributing to solution design, and coordinating implementation and optimization across multiple teams.

 

THE PERSON:

You are a subject matter expert and a strong technical contributor with experience in AI tools, frameworks, and models for robotics system. You excel as part of a team where customer communication and team skills are highly valued.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Solution Architecture:

  • Understand business requirements and co-design system architecture and modular solutions for robotics platforms.
  • Define hardware/software partitioning strategies across CPU, GPU, NPU, FPGA for robotics workloads.

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead architectural development for robotics POCs, pilots, and production deployments.
  • Drive system-level performance tuning (latency, throughput, power, thermal) ensuring stability, scalability, and high performance.

Innovation & Strategy:

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, solve complex technical challenges, and drive continuous improvement for competitive solutions.
  • Contribute to AMD's robotics technology strategy and AI roadmap planning.

Customer Engagement:

  • Collaborate with ODM/OEM/Tier-1 partners in China to co-develop robotics solutions.
  • Provide technical consultation on system integration, deployment architectures, and optimization.

Thought Leadership:

  • Represent AMD in physical AI, embodied AI, humanoid robotics, industrial automation, and autonomous systems forums, publish technical blogs, and engage with developer communities.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, or robotics, embedded systems, or edge AI
  • Strong knowledge of robotics software architecture, including ROS/ROS2, sensor fusion, motion control, and real-time systems.
  • Hands-on experience with AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), OpenCV, LLM/VLM/VLA and robotics simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with heterogeneous compute platforms, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Deep understanding of the PRC robotics ecosystem and proven experience collaborating with ODM/OEM/Tier‑1 partners.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional and customer-facing engagements.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience implementing AI models for perception, sensor fusion, planning, and control in robotics.
  • Experience working on embodied AI implementation.
  • Familiarity with AMD ROCm stack, Intel OpenVINO, or GPU programming (CUDA, HIP).
  • Knowledge of robotics and automation safety standards, PRC embodied AI standards.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
