THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join AMD's Global Operations Finance (GOQ Finance) team. This role will serve as a key finance business partner supporting global manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, and capital investment activities. The successful candidate will drive financial planning, forecasting, operational analysis, and process improvements while providing actionable insights to support business decisions and optimize financial performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and enhance financial models supporting quarterly forecasts, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and long-range planning for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), inventory, and capital expenditures (CapEx).
  • Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and operations stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support strategic initiatives.
  • Own intra-quarter forecast and outlook processes, ensuring timely identification of risks, opportunities, and financial impacts.
  • Perform comprehensive variance analysis of actual results versus forecast, budget, and prior periods, and communicate key drivers and recommendations to leadership.
  • Analyze inventory, manufacturing costs, and operational metrics to improve visibility and support informed business decisions.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including accruals, reclassifications, account reconciliations, financial reviews, and management reporting.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, financial summaries, and decision-support materials for senior leadership reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and leverage automation and analytics solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial compliance, strong internal controls, and adherence to corporate policies.
  • Lead or participate in special projects involving financial transformation, systems enhancements, business process improvements, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Support data governance efforts and help improve reporting accuracy through the effective use of ERP systems, reporting tools, and data platforms.

 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in manufacturing, operations finance, supply chain finance, or FP&A.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing operations, and financial planning processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and financial planning or reporting tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Experience with Power BI, Snowflake, data analytics, or automation tools is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights and recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience interacting with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver results in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for process optimization, automation, and operational excellence.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent are preferred.
