THE ROLE:
We are looking for a dynamic Software Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. You will contribute to delivering high-quality, industry-leading technologies and drive BIOS validation excellence across AMD products while enabling continuous technical innovation and performance improvements.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration. You should be able to represent BIOS/Firmware validation across teams, clearly articulate design intent, and drive solutions across architecture, development, and validation groups. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own end-to-end BIOS validation for all Embedded products
- Define and maintain comprehensive test plans for features, regression, and release sign-off
- Validate core BIOS functionality including platform bring-up, integration, and system configuration
- Ensure security and compliance validation requirements are met
- Convert feature specifications into manual and automated test cases (functional, boundary, negative)
- Develop and enhance automation frameworks, tools, and scripts
- Perform triage, debugging, and root cause analysis for failures
- Collaborate with architecture, firmware, OS, and customer engineering teams
- Track validation progress to ensure timely feature delivery and optimization
- Contribute to validation strategy improvements, tools, and methodologies
- Lead cross-team collaboration and mentor junior engineers
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong programming/scripting skills (Python, shell)
- Expertise in BIOS and x86 system architecture
- Experience with debugging methodologies and validation strategies
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of system architecture and platform validation
- Experience with PC hardware/software configurations and troubleshooting
- Exposure to virtualization environments
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

- Bangalore (Hybrid – 4 days in office)
