THE ROLE: 

In this role, you will work within the GFXIP PMO with responsibilities of ensuring development execution is successfully driven in line with the project(s) scope, schedule, and budget.  A key component of this role involves working closely with IP design and verification team to ensure continual forward progress is maintained, status reporting is timely and accurate, and key issues are driven with appropriate urgency. This is a cross-functional role that involves engagement across all engineering and business units to meet project objectives. This position offers deep exposure to industry leading Graphics, GPU Compute, Machine Learning, and related technologies.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Defines, plans and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance 
  • Creates and maintains project management artifacts such as schedule, resource and resource forecast, risk and issues logs 
  • Scope technical feasibility of new Products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with HW Architects, Technical Leads and Engineers 
  • Plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs 
  • Collect, analyze, organize and publish project performance data via dashboards and recurring status reports
  • Ownership of status reporting and issue messaging to key stakeholders, including senior executives
  • Initiates significant changes to existing processes and methods to improve project and team efficiency 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Horizontal leadership/Matrix management experience
  • Good understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and defect management 
  • Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items 
  • Able to communicate concepts and processes with stakeholders 
  • Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis 
  • Excellence in resource planning is necessary 
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment and competing priorities and tight turnaround times 
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel
  • Experience with Agile methodology is an asset

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Electrical engineering or Computer Science
  • Formal Project Management education, PMP / Scrum Master desired
