THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Senior Security Program Manager to join our Security Project Management Office (PMO) team. This role involves leading the security PMO, managing the security project portfolio, overseeing budgets and resources, and developing security service management processes.
THE PERSON:
This role requires a strong background in information security, program and project management, portfolio management, along with expertise in budget and resource planning, operational and risk metrics tracking, and executive reporting. Proven ability to tactically implement a strategic vision. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Develop and Implement Security Service Management Processes:
- Design and implement processes to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
- Continuously improve security service management practices based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Plan and Manage Budgets and Resources:
- Develop and manage budgets for security programs, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization of resources.
- Monitor expenditures and adjust budget plans as necessary to meet program goals.
- Forecast resource needs and plan for future requirements.
Build and Manage CISO and Executive Risk Dashboards :
- Develop dashboards to provide accurate and timely updates on program status and metrics.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports to executive leadership, offering insights and recommendations.
- Communicate the impact of security initiatives on organizational goals.
Define, Track, and Report on Metrics:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure program effectiveness.
- Track and analyze operational and risk metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide regular reports and insights to security leadership and executive teams.
Lead and Manage the Security PMO:
- Establish and maintain the security PMO framework and methodologies.
- Ensure successful delivery of strategic security initiatives by guiding and supporting project teams.
- Monitor and report on the progress of security projects to meet objectives and deadlines.
Oversee and Manage Security Projects and Portfolio:
- Evaluate, prioritize, and align security projects with organizational goals and IT initiatives.
- Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks and adjust the project portfolio to respond to changing priorities and emerging threats.
Collaborate with IT PMO and Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with the IT PMO to integrate security projects with broader IT initiatives.
- Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between security and IT teams.
- Align security project goals with IT infrastructure and application development plans.
Identify Inefficiencies and Develop Solutions:
- Conduct assessments to identify inefficiencies within security programs.
- Collaborate with security leadership to develop and implement solutions to improve performance.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the security team.
Supervise Vendor Selection and Contract Management:
- Oversee the selection of vendors and manage contract negotiations.
- Ensure vendors meet security requirements and deliver quality services.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues that arise.
Support Policy Governance and Drive Continuous Improvement:
- Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the security program.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance security policies.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive experience in information security, security program management, project management, and portfolio management.
- Proven experience in budget and resource planning, operational and risk metrics tracking, and executive reporting.
- Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships, facilitate decision-making, and influence the outcome.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in information security, Computer Science, or a related field.
