THE ROLE:

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming how AI and high‑performance computing are delivered at scale, and this role sits at the center of that effort. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will act as a key execution leader and the customer's voice within AMD's Instinct™ GPU ecosystem, working closely with hardware, software, manufacturing, and business teams to bring complex programs from concept through successful customer deployment. You will help translate customer requirements into clear execution plans, anticipate and mitigate risks across hardware and software dependencies, and ensure AMD delivers industry‑leading AI and HPC platforms on time and at scale—all while collaborating with some of the brightest minds shaping next‑generation data center technology.

THE PERSON:

Successful candidates are strong program leaders who thrive in fast‑paced, technically complex environments. You bring structure to ambiguity, communicate clearly across diverse stakeholders, and take pride in driving execution from start to finish. You are comfortable operating at a systems level—understanding how hardware, software, and operational considerations come together—without needing to be the deepest technical specialist in the room. You build trust through accountability, influence without authority, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving risks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect, analyze, and translate customer feature requirements into actionable inputs for internal product development teams.
  • Ensure customer‑required collateral is developed and delivered on time to support customer product development schedules.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and business operations teams to ensure sufficient part availability for initial deployments and field replacements.
  • Track firmware, ROCm, and BKC versions to ensure correct hardware and software configurations in customer deployments.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program schedules that account for driver, software stack, and hardware/firmware dependencies.
  • Track product issues and accelerate resolution by supporting returns, coordinating failure analysis, and driving L1/L2/L3 debug escalation.
  • Drive resolution of customer issues attributable to AMD manufacturing or assembly.
  • Communicate program status, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to cross‑functional teams and leadership, and remove execution roadblocks.
  • Proactively identify program risks, define prevention strategies, and implement corrective actions to reduce cost and schedule impact.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience leading complex technical or hardware‑adjacent programs in a data center, systems, or platform environment
  • Exposure to server platforms, accelerated computing, or AI/HPC infrastructure
  • Ability to operate across hardware and software organizations and manage interdependencies
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and global stakeholders
  • Familiarity with customer‑facing roles involving large‑scale or mission‑critical deployments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis
  • Demonstrated experience leading programs across geographically distributed teams, including Asia and North America.
  • Flexibility to support global program execution across time zones.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

LOCATIONS:  Austin (preferred), San Jose, Seattle, Remote can be considered for the right candidate
