THE ROLE:
We are seeking a seasoned Silicon Photonics Design and Data Engineer with subject matter expertise in integrated photonic product development. You have had significant success driving photonic PDK, device, circuit design as well as developed the underlying data analysis and infrastructure to support PIC productization. You are meticulous about both DFx and software while driving schedule and managing cost.

You have excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through technical publications, presentations, trainings, executive briefings, etc. You are highly adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and engineers alike, ready to mentor and guide, and help to elevate the knowledge and skills of the team around you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and develop software tools that serve as force multipliers for the photonics design team. These tools will include design automation, test automation, and databases.
- Collaborate on design-for-test best practices to ensure that photonic devices will be ready for high-volume manufacturing.
- Participate in design reviews as a subject matter expert in silicon photonic component design.
- Work cross functionally with EIC, packaging, foundry technology, test development, and product teams to architect appropriate design and test automation solutions.
- Step into technical advisory roles for optical component design, including the use of electromagnetic solvers, compact model development, DFx/FMEA generation, and technical project management.
- Contribute to top-level photonic layout development for highly integrated PICs.
- Support post-silicon teams for product performance and functional issues debug/resolution
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience developing PICs that have reached HVM, from concept to field failure analysis.
- Subject matter expertise in silicon photonics foundry technology, device design, and circuit layout.
- Proficient in software architecture and development for photonic design automation, test automation, and data analysis. Python and Cadence development experience is preferred.
- Experience in photonic wafer-, die-, and package-level testing and related test instrumentation.
- Excellent communication, management, and presentation skills.
- Adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and senior architects with strong interpersonal skills to work across teams in different geographies
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Master's or PhD degree in related discipline preferred
