THE ROLE: 

We are looking for Software Development Engineers to develop and optimize Vulkan and OpenGL driver performance for AMD discrete and integrated GPUs on Windows and Linux platforms. You will be part of a highly collaborative team that develops driver optimizations and internal performance tools for optimal graphics performance. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the cutting-edge technology of GPU performance and 3D driver optimizations..  

 

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership technical skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Investigate performance issues in OpenGL/Vulkan applications and develop driver optimizations to unleash the full potential of GPU hardware
  • Identify GPU HW performance issues and contribute to future GPU improvements 
  • Debug quality and performance issues on Windows or Linux platforms

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Strong C/C++ and object-oriented experience in Windows and Linux environments
  • Understanding of graphics APIssuch as DX12 or OpenGL or Vulkan
  • Research or project experience in hardware performance, with clear understanding of GPU hardware performance architecture such as regarding GPU execution model, threads, waves, SIMD, registers, cache, cost/performance trade-off, etc.
  • Experience with debugging and performance tools such as Microsoft PIX, RenderDoc, VTune, or AMD's Radeon Developer Tool Suite
  • Solid understanding of Software Engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, Operating Systems concepts, and multithreaded programming

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
