THE ROLE:

Be part of the Firmware Security team and contribute to pre-silicon and post-silicon firmware development. The role touches on HW/FPGA/compiler knowledge to assembly/C programming with a great opportunity to learn about hardware security flow/algorithms and overall SOC.

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility, strong motivation, and a proven record of meeting aggressive deadlines. They work effectively as part of a team and have a track record of solving critical software problems. Strong interpersonal skills, technical leadership, and the ability to collaborate are essential.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with innovative managers and engineers to engineer cutting-edge AMD silicon debug software.

  • Participate in all phases of software development as a senior member, including system requirement analysis and coordinating feature design and development with other departments.

  • Conduct code reviews, create unit tests, and author detailed documentation related to your work.

  • Collaborate with on-site and off-shore teams to deliver the software solution on schedule.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong background in object-oriented design and programming in C, C++, Java, or C#.

  • Experience with hardware or embedded debugging software, including JTAG testing and run-time debugging tools.

  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with processor architectures such as x86, ARM/RISC, and embedded systems.

  • Knowledge of system bring-up, DFT, and hardware interfaces such as SPI, I2C, and PCIe.

  • Exposure to applied cryptography and security concepts.

  • Hands-on experience with lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and FPGA/Verilog environments.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Perl) and familiarity with compiler development or optimization.

  • Project planning experience, prior leadership responsibilities, and ability to work with offshore teams.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
