THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a highly experienced and technically hands-on Software Engineer to work on the development of diagnostic software for next-generation data center products. This role is critical to enabling early hardware validation, ensuring long-term reliability, and accelerating time-to-market for complex platforms.

THE PERSON:

The candidate will play a central role in board bring-up, high-speed interface validation, and network switch diagnostics, working closely with cross-functional teams to support platform power-on, debug, and production readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop diagnostic software, test frameworks, and automation tools for board and system-level validation
  • Build and maintain test scripts and utilities (Python/C) for hardware bring up, validation, and production screening
  • Define and implement diagnostic test coverage across functionality, stress, performance, and system stability
  • Debug hardware/firmware issues (ASIC, CPLD) using diagnostic tools and drive root cause analysis
  • Support EVT/DVT validation by developing reusable diagnostic tools and improving test efficiency
  • Enable and support manufacturing test, including diagnostic integration, automation, and yield improvement
  • Work with ODM/CM partners and internal teams to debug issues and enhance test coverage

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience supporting EVT/DVT or manufacturing test environments
  • Experience working with ODM partners or large-scale system validation
  • Familiarity with Linux-based test environments, IPMI/Redfish, and system interfaces

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
