SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 2
THE ROLE:
You will join our Customer eXperience Engineering (CXE) team, which is part of AMD's Adaptive and Embedded Computing Group. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly strategic and important part of AMD's business, targeting the next generation of FPGA technologies and software tools to meet the needs of our broad market of customers.
You will interact closely with other engineers throughout the CXE team and across the wider AMD, both with software and hardware teams.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
As part of the CXE team you will act as ‘Customer Zero', helping to develop software/firmware as part of full system solutions on our next generations of Adaptive SoCs/FPGAs using tools such as AMD's Vitis design software, and working with a variety of Operating Systems such as Zephyr, FreeRTOS, and Embedded Linux.
You will gain exposure to the entire software/firmware development process and learn what it takes to bring a complex design from concept to deployment.

EXPERIENCE:
- Track record of embedded software system development from architecture, design, development and verification.
- Experience of software development in C/C++ programming languages.
- Using multi-threaded and real-time SW Architectures.
- RTOS-based development (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux etc).
- Experience of Linux Kernel development (e.g. kernel drivers, bitbake, the Yocto project).
- Experience with software development in a Linux and/or Windows environment.
- Knowledge of Embedded processors such as ARM.
- Experience in Python / TCL would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of high-level synthesis in C/C++ would be beneficial.
- Self-motivated and goal driven. Capable of working alone or as part of a team.
- Willingness to mentor and assist with development of junior engineers.
- Good oral and written communications.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Degree or better in Electronic Engineering, Computer science, or related subject with 2+Yrs of exp
