MTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
AMD is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Software Development Engineer to design and develop critical embedded software components. As part of a core team of embedded specialists, you will work on cutting-edge hardware and software technologies, contributing to the success of next-generation AMD products.

We want an engineer who thrives in the embedded domain, demonstrates strong problem-solving and leadership skills, and can drive complex issues to resolution. You should be an effective communicator and a collaborative team player who works seamlessly across diverse teams within AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, maintain and upstream (as needed) embedded Linux based solution for on‑chip asymmetric cryptography accelerator (public‑key ops: RSA, ECDSA/ECDH, etc.) . Includes user space layers (OpenSSL 3 provider) to interact with OpenSSL.
- Design, develop, and maintain Linux/RTOS based peripheral drivers
- Participate hardware bring-up activities.
- Debug and resolve existing issues while exploring innovative, efficient solutions.
- Collaborate with AMD architecture teams to influence and enhance future product designs.
- Apply data-driven approaches to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Stay current with emerging trends in software, hardware, algorithms, and architecture.
- Build and maintain strong technical relationships with peers and partners.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 8–9 years of total experience in embedded systems development with at least 5 years with embedded Linux.
- Strong expertise in Linux kernel driver development.
- Hands‑on with RSA, ECDSA, ECDH (key formats, padding, curves), with mapping these to queue‑driven hardware
- Expertise in embedded C programming.
- Hands-on experience with RTOS (e.g., Zephyr, FreeRTOS) will be an added advantage.
- Proven track record in hardware/SoC bring-up.
- Solid understanding of silicon domain and hardware-software integration.
- Good knowledge of ARM. Experience on RISC-V will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Git and version control best practices.
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in ECE, EEE, or CSE
