THE ROLE:

The GPU computing market for AI and HPC is rapidly growing, increasing the demand for higher I/O performance and system complexity in AMD's server products. Our Data Center GPU (DCGPU) team tackles these challenges through innovation and collaboration.

We seek a HSIO Validation Engineer to validate High Speed I/O's like PCIE and Ethernet. This role involves IP testing and system-level coverage in both pre-silicon and post-silicon phases.

 

THE PERSON:

Join a team focused on improving AMD's time-to-quality and time-to-market metrics. Use your Functional Validation experience to address challenging IP development, testing, and debugging issues.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the strategy and implementation of post-silicon validation, encompassing power-on, enablement, stress testing, manufacturing, and customer sampling phases.
  • Develop test procedures to identify hardware and software defects, incorporating metrics to ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Create Python scripts for testing, collecting metrics, and characterization.
  • Interact with external customers and partners for issue debugging and co-validation efforts.
  • Lead issue debug with PHY and channel design owners including 3rd party component vendors

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-10 years of experience as an HSIO Validation subject matter expert (PCIE / Ethernet)  
  • Experience in creating validation solutions for link controllers, training , protocols, bus performance, and data traffic integrity.  
  • Experience in developing test methodologies for GPU-to-GPU interconnects, such as AMD Infinity Fabric or NVLINK.
  • Proficient in GPU programming and System on Chip (SoC) design concepts, including RTL, firmware, and driver development.
  • Clock and signal analysis using high bandwidth oscilloscopes and fixtures (LeCroy, TEK, or Keysight).
  • Protocol Analyzers and Exercisers

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
