THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Industry & Partner Events Manager to lead AMD's participation across our most complex and strategically significant industry and partner-hosted events.

 

This role will own the strategy, investment, integrated planning, and end-to-end delivery of assigned industry events and partner third-party events, bringing together enterprise, Business Unit, regional, customer, developer, partner marketing, and communications priorities into a cohesive AMD presence. The successful candidate will operate with significant autonomy, serve as a senior advisor to business, marketing, and partner marketing stakeholders, and help shape AMD's approach to priority industry and partner platforms.

 

This is a senior individual contributor role for an experienced event leader who can navigate significant investment, complex stakeholder environments, multi-company partnerships, and high-profile industry moments while leading large cross-functional teams through influence.

 

THE PERSON

You are a strategic event marketing professional with a strong track record of leading high-profile industry and partner events that drive business impact. You excel at balancing business objectives, partner priorities, audience needs, and event investments to create compelling experiences. You thrive in complex, highly matrixed environments and are skilled at influencing stakeholders, building partnerships, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver results. You bring a combination of strategic thinking, operational excellence, financial acumen, and strong relationship management skills that enables you to navigate large-scale programs with confidence and autonomy.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Event Ownership: Own the strategy, investment, integrated planning, and end-to-end delivery of AMD's most complex and strategically significant assigned industry events and partner-hosted events, including flagship conferences run by OEM, cloud, ISV, and ecosystem partners.
  • Event Strategy: Establish clear objectives, priority audiences, participation strategies, scope, investment, and measures of success aligned to AMD's broader Industry Events portfolio strategy and joint partner go-to-market priorities.
  • Participation & Investment Strategy: Determine the appropriate mix of sponsorship, exhibits, speaking opportunities, customer engagement and executive engagement, partner activations, co-funded programs, demos, meetings, hospitality, and other investments based on business priorities and audience opportunity.
  • Partner Marketing Alignment: Partner closely with Partner Marketing, Channel, and Business Unit partner teams to align event participation with joint business plans, partner priorities, and co-marketing commitments.
  • Joint Content & Executive Presence: Coordinate joint keynote appearances, co-presented sessions, shared demos, and executive engagement with partner event and marketing teams, balancing AMD visibility with partner brand, messaging, and approval requirements.
  • Scalable Partner Programs: Design and manage centrally owned frameworks for partner roadshows and recurring partner event series, including playbooks, templates, activation kits, approved content. messaging and demo packages, budget models, and measurement standards; define roles, approval paths, and service levels with regions and partners, and enable local teams to execute consistently and efficiently.
  • Event Organizer & Partner Relationships: Develop and manage strategic relationships with event organizers and partner event teams, identifying opportunities to strengthen AMD's positioning, participation, speaking presence, and overall value from priority platforms.
  • Budget & Investment Management: Develop and manage significant event budgets, forecasts, scopes, and investment trade-offs, including sponsorship packages, co-funded activations, and joint investments with partners such as market development and co-marketing funds, ensuring clear ownership of scope, cost sharing, and deliverables.
  • Cross-Functional Program Leadership: Lead large cross-functional teams through influence, spanning Business Units, Marketing, Partner Marketing, Sales, regions, Communications, Developer Relations, and specialist event teams (Event Marketing, Content & Programming, Demo Experiences, Event Technology Operations, Global Event Operations), and provide senior leadership to agencies, venues, and suppliers with clear accountability and delivery expectations.
  • Executive & Business Partnership: Serve as a senior Event Marketing advisor to Business Units, Marketing, and Partner Marketing leaders, and to executive stakeholders at AMD and partner organizations, providing recommendations on strategy, investment, readiness, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Performance & Optimization: Evaluate performance against event objectives, including shared success measures with partners such as pipeline influence and joint customer engagement, and aggregate results across roadshow stops and regions to refine programs and guide future participation and investment.
  • Portfolio Contribution: Bring insights from assigned programs into the broader Industry Events portfolio, including recommendations on which industry and partner events AMD should prioritize, consolidate, or exit.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide program-level leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Industry Events Managers and Coordinators without direct people management responsibility.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive progressive experience in industry events, event marketing, experiential marketing, integrated marketing, partner marketing, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience owning strategy and end-to-end delivery for major global industry events, conferences, trade shows, or partner-hosted events, including complex programs involving multiple Business Units, audiences, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of third-party event platforms, sponsorships, and partner activations.
  • Experience working with partner marketing teams or partner organizations to translate joint business plans into event strategy, including co-marketing structures, market development funds (MDF), joint investment models, and shared approvals and messaging across brands.
  • Experience building scalable event programs, such as roadshows or multi-market event series, using playbooks, templates, and operating models that enable central ownership with local execution.
  • Experience managing significant event budgets and making complex investment and scope trade-offs.
  • Strong relationships and negotiation experience with event organizers, partners, agencies, venues, and other external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with significant autonomy, lead large cross-functional teams through influence, and advise senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience within technology, semiconductor, AI, enterprise, developer, or related B2B industries preferred.
  • Willingness to travel globally and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, event management, or a related field is preferred.
