THE ROLE: 

AMD is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for the AI Developer Tools team, where you will contribute to the development and optimization of GPU profiling tools for high-performance computing environments and ML workloads. You will work alongside a team of skilled engineers, collaborating to enhance the profiling tools' capabilities and support broader strategic projects.

 

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Should understand GPU and computer system architecture, along with strong proficiency in C++. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work with AMD's architecture specialists to improve future products
  • Design and develop new groundbreaking AMD technologies
  • Design and develop high-quality software tools for GPU profiling
  • Optimize the performance of GPU profiling tools and systems
  • Stay informed of software and hardware developments, especially pertaining to latest algorithms and architecture, and help enhance libraries and tools in ROCm
  • Participating in new ASIC and hardware bring ups
  • Debugging/fixing existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work
  • Develop technical relationships with peers and partners

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Strong object-oriented programming background and C/C++ skills
  • Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs
  • Experience with GPU programming technologies HIP is a plus
  • Strong understanding of GPU architecture and computer system architecture
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating system development
  • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
