THE ROLE: 


The Product Development Group is looking for dynamic and energetic Software Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's IP, you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies used for Datacenter, Machine Learning, and High-Performance Computing. This position involves a wide range of activities including high-speed system designs that push the limits of technology, designing and implementing test and characterization circuits in the lab, and debugging complicated system level problems. The team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

 

THE PERSON: 

 

As a member of the Product Development Group, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your software engineering expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, and root cause resolution.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define, develop, and execute the Datacenter GPU pre-silicon and post-silicon factory infrastructure
  • Develop platform validation plans and flows while ensuring end to end coverage
  • Develop and implement debug strategies to resolve system level issues
  • Collaborate across multiple disciplines (hardware, firmware, software, and/or data center infrastructure) on design requirements and risks, design reviews , proof of concept projects , assessing system tradeoffs and impact on performance, identifying dependencies for validation and manufacturing tests.
  • Through comprehensive lab work, test new designs to verify compliance to specifications.
  • Work AMD cross-functional team and Contract Manufacturing to drive early-stage process development, DFX reviews, and manufacturing optimization

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

 

  • Minimum 5 yrs experience in platform validation that includes SW/FW and test development
  • Experience in a hands-on software engineering, development, and/or architectural leadership role
  • Strong C/C++/Python/JAVA programming skills
  • GPU/CPU optimizations experience, knowledge of AI workloads and executions on data center systems are plus
  • Consistent record in engineering execution, and software delivery on time with high quality
  • Strong project management skills and experience with project management techniques such as scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
  • Strong Interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
  • Experience in Interfacing with diagnostics or testing in manufacturing environment 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

 

Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
