THE ROLE:
The Board and System Test Engineering team plays a critical role across the full product lifecycle, supporting AMD's GPU and data center platforms from early concept through mass production. In this role, you will help drive robust, scalable, and cost‑effective test solutions that ensure high product quality and manufacturing success.
You will work hands‑on with system and board‑level test hardware, partner closely with internal engineering teams and external factory vendors, and lead debug and test activities directly at the manufacturing floor. This is a highly visible role where your technical leadership will directly influence product ramp, yield, and customer quality for next‑generation data center and server solutions.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated engineer who enjoys hands‑on problem solving in fast‑paced manufacturing environments. You are comfortable working through ambiguity, thrive in cross‑functional teams, and can clearly communicate complex technical issues to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Strong technical judgment, ownership mindset, and the ability to lead through influence are key to success in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead board and system‑level test engineering activities at the factory to support new product introduction and high‑volume manufacturing
- Develop, review, and execute board and system test plans, including characterization and production testing
- Debug board‑level and system‑level hardware issues, including test interface hardware
- Drive test solution bring‑up, verification, and validation for GPU and data center products
- Analyze test and manufacturing data to improve yield, reduce test time, and lower overall cost
- Release cost‑effective, scalable production test solutions into mass production
- Initiate and lead on‑site debug activities with factory partners and AMD engineering teams
- Support data center and server manufacturing bring‑up, test readiness reviews, and factory training activities
- Coordinate closely with cross‑functional teams including design, verification, test engineering, and operations
- Communicate status, risks, and resolutions effectively with peers, senior engineers, and management
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Board and system‑level test engineering in manufacturing environments
- Supporting test solutions for servers, data center platforms, GPUs, or high‑performance PCs
- High‑speed digital and analog circuit debug
- PCBA fabrication processes and factory manufacturing flows
- Yield improvement and test time reduction initiatives
- Linux‑based development or debug environments
- Linux shell scripting and/or Python programming
- Experience setting up or validating workloads in hyper‑converged or server environments
- GPU, server, or desktop motherboard design or debug exposure
- Leading technical discussions, reviews, and cross‑functional meetings
