THE ROLE: 

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for category planning and strategic sourcing of AMD's Global Real Estate (GRE), Travel, Meetings & Events categories. This includes developing global procurement strategies and implementing supplier development programs that has a coordinated long-term approach on cost, quality, and service.  The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for negotiating pricing, service levels, master agreements and statements of work. Developing successful relationships with key partners, internal customers, and suppliers is key.

THE PERSON:

You are a self-starter and adept at identifying sourcing opportunities and driving sourcing initiatives with key partners—with minimum involvement from management. Outstanding negotiation and communication skills are critical to this role! You are an excellent communicator and collaborator, who can present to all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Strategic Sourcing Manager in Indirect Procurement will be responsible for managing the category management with a focus on Global Real Estate, Travel, Meetings & Events categories. As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be expected to lead the strategic sourcing process & analysis, price negotiation, cost reduction, negotiate agreements, and statement of work for the business teams you will support. You will manage supplier's performance to contractual requirements which meet the short- and long-term needs of the organization and implement contracts to minimize risk and enable supplier accountability for non-performance.

In this role you will work with business units to understand and set cost targets for our Global Real Estate teams including Facilities Management, Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Security, & Space Planning. You will also work with AMD's Finance, Travel, and Marketing Teams, as well as many and other AMD teams, to support Travel, Meetings & Events needs.

Responsibilities of this Strategic Sourcing Manager role:

  • Develop commodity and category strategies with the internal business teams
  • Develop and make recommendations regarding sourcing strategies, requirements planning, and revenue generation using analytics.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts and statements of work with suppliers, internal clients and legal support.
  • Demonstrate efficient and effective use of strategic sourcing and Procure-to-Pay processes.
  • Lead Supplier Performance Management (SPM) with key suppliers and manage the quarterly scorecard to review service level on cost, technology, quality, service, and flexibility.
  • Implement all activities associated with Source-to-Pay such that orders are issued and invoiced in a timely manner.
  • Understand cross-functional and cross site business processes to support operational (PO) process execution. Participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage business reviews with strategic suppliers
  • Prepare Executive award summaries and presentations.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

The ideal candidate will have intermediate to senior level experience with sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for a global company with Global Real Estate and/or Travel category management experience.

  • Sourcing and negotiation experience in a strategic sourcing role
  • Experience sourcing and negotiating Global Real Estate, Construction and/or Travel is preferred

  • Market Analytics
  • Experience with SAP Ariba Sourcing is preferred

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

Bachelor's degree in required in Business or Engineering preferred
