THE ROLE:
We are seeking a System & Hardware Validation and DVT Engineer to lead the qualification and production readiness of our next-generation datacenter platform. This role requires deep expertise in system-level validation, Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS), and cross-domain issue identification across electrical, mechanical, firmware, and software domains. You will play a pivotal role in driving the system from prototype through qualification to high-volume production.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and execute Design Verification Testing (DVT) for complex datacenter systems that integrate CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, optical interconnects, and precision clock distribution networks.
- Develop and run HASS methodologies to expose early-life and marginal failures under environmental and electrical stress conditions.
- Identify, root-cause, and resolve critical design issues spanning hardware (electrical/mechanical), firmware, and system software.
- Validate system operation at full rack-level load, including thermal and power stress testing for up to 6KW in a 10RU chassis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define validation criteria, corner cases, and coverage for system qualification.
- Drive system bring-up, debug, and qualification from EVT → DVT → PVT phases.
- Work with manufacturing teams to establish factory test processes and oversee production ramp-up to ensure reliable, high-yield system builds.
- Create validation plans, test procedures, and documentation for certification and compliance with datacenter standards.
- Serve as a technical liaison between design, validation, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition into production.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in system-level hardware validation and DVT for high-performance computing or datacenter platforms.
- Proven experience with HASS methodologies and environmental stress testing.
- Strong knowledge of datacenter hardware architectures, including CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and high-speed optical/electrical interconnects.
- Strong knowledge of datacenter compliance standards (UL, NEBS, FCC, CE, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with precision clock distribution validation, jitter analysis, and signal integrity verification.
- Familiarity with power distribution and thermal validation for high-density systems (multi-kW per chassis).
- Proficiency with debug and measurement tools: oscilloscopes, high-speed analyzers, logic analyzers, and thermal/power monitoring equipment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of factory qualification processes, including ICT, functional test, and burn-in.
- Background in firmware/software integration testing for large-scale systems.
- Experience overseeing production ramp-up at contract manufacturing sites.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
