MTS SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER  

 

THE ROLE:  

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Lead / Senior Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.  

 

THE PERSON:  

As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your software systems engineering expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, and root cause resolution.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Driving technical innovation to improve AMD's capabilities across validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives 
  • Experience transforming architectural requirements into engineering specifications
  • Experience working with stakeholders to prioritize multi-objective power & performance tuning requirements
  • Design, Develop, and Deliver to customer specific SW/FW/ driver requirement and enhancements
  • Leading collaborative approach with multiple teams, tracking development/test execution to make sure all features are validated/optimized on time.  Execute w/ attention to detail and focus on quality of the deliverables.
  • Provide feedback and improvement ideas to cross-functional teams including performance architecture, IP (CPU, GPU, memory, data fabric), SoC, O/S (Windows and Linux), FW, and Silicon enablement teams.
  • Demonstrate programming w/ modularity, reusability, pluggability
  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Python, batch)
  • Proficiency in flow chart, Unit Test, Integration Test, debugging tolls
  • Experience in SW development methodologies (Waterfall/Agile, Kanban/Scrum framework)
  • Well versed in SW engineering practices:  Requirement/design documents, design review, code walk-through/check-in, source control systems (git) issue tracking such as JIRA
  • Knowledge of Microprocessor architecture (APU/GPU) including memory management units, interrupt delivery, multi-threaded development, HW/SW interfaces
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Knowledge of Object-oriented Programming, Test Driven Development
  • Ability to write clean, efficient and scalable code
  • Proficiency in HW/SW performance features, and tuning including clock controllers and power limiters
  • Knowledge of system architecture and power performance attainment on mobile systems
  • Experience AI development tool (GitHub Co-Pilot)
  • Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
