THE ROLE:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's products, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.
THE PERSON:
The Systems Design Engineer certifies display panels to drive the best user experience. You will also be responsible for liaison between hardware engineering teams and customer engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing and Validation - Collect and analyze aggregated data to enable data driven engineering decisions during display testing, report on findings, reduce test data, and investigate test outcomes.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging - Identifying and resolving issues related to display performance, particularly in areas like refresh rates, flicker, and frame drops.
- Certification: - Working with OEM's to certify panels for FreeSync displays.
- Cross-functional Collaboration - Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and other teams to ensure products meet performance requirements.
- Tool Development - Creating or utilizing tools for testing and analysis of display performance.
- Industry Engagement - Participating plug-fests to stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Technical Knowledge: 5 years of experience working in a power electronics technical environment with strong understanding of eDP display technologies and related standards.
- Testing and Validation Experience: Proven experience in testing and validating display performance.
- Problem-solving Skills: Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with various teams and stakeholders.
- Certification Knowledge: Familiarity with display certification or other relevant certifications.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience with relevant testing tools and software.
- Industry Awareness: Knowledge of current trends and advancements in display technology.
