Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.  Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) Systems Design Engineer with deep expertise in DRAM subsystems and system architecture to join the Client Systems Debug team.
This role focuses on system-level debug and root cause analysis of complex Client platform issues where memory behavior interacts with CPU, firmware, OS, and power management, resulting in failures such as hangs, BSODs, performance instability, or low-power transition issues.
You will serve as a DRAM and system architecture subject-matter expert in post-silicon environments, bridging silicon, firmware, OS, and platform domains.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is a technically deep, system-oriented engineer with strong DRAM knowledge and the ability to apply it in real system failure scenarios, not just lab-level validation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the technical lead for DRAM-related system-level debug on Client platforms
• Drive root cause analysis of complex failures involving memory initialization, training, power states, and runtime stability
• Analyze system issues such as intermittent hangs, BSODs, data corruption, performance degradation, and low-power exit failures where DRAM behavior is a contributing factor
• Collaborate closely with silicon design teams (memory controller, PHY) during debug and root cause resolution
• Work with BIOS/UEFI, firmware, OS, and driver teams to identify and resolve cross-layer memory-related issues
• Assist in debugging compatibility issues of 3rd-party DRAM chips

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Deep hands-on experience with DDR5 / DDR4 and/or LPDDR5 / LPDDR4 subsystems
• Strong understanding of memory controller behavior, training flows, and power management states
• Proven experience debugging platform-level electrical and functional memory issues in post-silicon environments
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, memory routing, and layout documentation
• Experience collaborating with silicon, firmware, and platform teams during complex debug
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers for memory-related debug
• Familiarity with system architecture interactions between CPU, memory, IO, and power domains
• Experience correlating OS-level failures with underlying DRAM behavior
• Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Ruby) to assist in debug or analysis
• Linux or Windows platform validation/debug experience

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
