THE ROLE:

Join the AMD Ventures team as a Venture Investment Manager and play a central role in advancing AMD's growth strategy. You will join a fast-paced, highly active corporate venture program that engages with the world's leading AI and technology companies. In this high impact position, you will identify, evaluate, and execute strategic venture investments that accelerate long term growth and strengthen AMD's competitive position. You will lead investment activities across the full lifecycle, from proactive sourcing and rigorous due diligence through transaction execution, ensuring close alignment with AMD's strategic and technology priorities. You will also develop clear investment theses aligned with AMD's technology roadmap and market focus areas, cultivating differentiated, high quality deal flow across priority sectors.

 

THE PERSON:

We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong analytical capability and exceptional business judgment. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, evaluating emerging technologies, and making investment recommendations supported by data and strategic reasoning. You bring credibility in discussions with founders, senior executives, and co-investors. You listen actively, communicate with clarity and tact, and adapt your style to diverse stakeholders. You earn trust quickly and handle sensitive conversations and confidential information with discretion. You are proactive in building relationships and capable of balancing strategic alignment with financial objectives. You thrive in fast paced environments, manage multiple priorities effectively, and demonstrate a high degree of ownership.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Identify and develop investment opportunities aligned with AMD's strategic priorities
  • Investment Strategy and Sourcing
  • Build and maintain relationships with founders, venture capital firms, accelerators, and innovation networks
  • Develop sector theses and proactively generate high quality deal flow
  • Due Diligence and Execution
  • Lead financial, commercial, and strategic due diligence processes
  • Develop robust investment cases, including strategic assessments and financial models
  • Present recommendations to investment committees and senior leadership
  • Support transaction structuring, negotiation, and closing in coordination with legal and finance teams
  • Investment Oversight
  • Represent the company as board observer when appropriate
  • Support follow on investment decisions and exit processes
  • Internal Engagement
  • Partner with business unit and technology leaders to identify strategic needs
  • Ensure investments remain aligned with AMD's corporate objectives

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in corporate VC, institutional VC, private equity, or corporate development
  • Direct exposure to early stage and growth stage investments
  • Experience interacting with startup leadership teams and boards
  • Proactive self-starter with strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly master new concept
  • Outstanding written communication skills, capable of creating clear and compelling narratives 
  • Highly driven and results-oriented, with a strong commitment to excellence

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
