To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Electrical Design Manager located in Kendal OR Blackburn.
In this role, you will lead our electrical design team, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role is pivotal in maintaining & growing Anord Mardix's reputation as a market leader in the critical power industry.
What a typical day looks like:
Lead and manage the UK electrical design team, providing guidance and support
Oversee the design and development of electrical drawings (Schematics & General Arrangement) and associated Bill of Materials (BOM's) for all Anord Mardix products
Ensure all designs comply with the relevant industry standards and regional regulations
Manage resource allocation to align with planning management functions and project timelines
Maintain Electrical Design CAD Blocks and libraries to ensure compliance
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution
Manage performance of the electrical design team and identify both individual and team areas of investment & improvement whilst mentoring and developing junior engineers within the team
Conduct design reviews and provide technical expertise to the projects team
Contribute innovatively with the Quality & Engineering Systems departments to improve business best practice
Provide technical support to internal technical, mechanical, production and supply chain team departments where required
Maintain accurate & complete design records in line with our document control function
Participate in all aspects of “team” development and goal achievement “Engineering Excellence”
Help drive continuous improvement activities within engineering
Promote proactive risk identification, mitigation, and resolution; opportunity & issues identification throughout the project lifecycle
Resolving technical queries both internally and externally.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Relevant engineering qualifications (BEng/MEng/CEng are preferred) or comparable industrial experience
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Electrical Design / Electrical Engineering role with proven strong leadership and team management skills essential
AutoCAD experience essential and AutoCAD Electrical experience or similar (E-plan / Promis-e experience) advantageous
Previous exposure & Knowledge of LV Distribution systems, PLC, Interlocking, small power & lighting, AC/DC power supplies, earthing systems etc. is advantageous
Ability to read and interpret product standards, customer specifications and electrical single line diagrams / schematics
Knowledge of PLM tools such as Autodesk Vault as well as knowledge of ERP tools is advantageous
Demonstrated pro-active, practical & flexible approach to work
Excellent interpersonal, communication; verbal, written and presentational skills are essential
A valid full driving license is required, with occasional travel as needed
