Job Summary

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world's largest companies.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Payroll Lead located in Castle Mills, Kendal.

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the Payroll Lead will lead the payroll function for Anord Mardix UK processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Managing the Payroll Administrator, delegating duties as required

  • Ensuring accurate agency staff hours are sent to the relevant agencies on time

  • Ensuring staff timesheets are processed accurately and that “clock ins” are correct and accurate, prior to input into payroll

  • Processing starters and leavers

  • Ensuring employee personnel folders are moved into previous employees, and removed from Itime once final pay is processed

  • Managing the pension scheme including auto-enrolment reports, with import and reconciliation of pension deductions

  • Ensuring all Payroll queries are resolved effectively and responded to in a timely manner

  • Processing pay reviews and bonuses when necessary

  • General payroll duties including Payroll Year End, calculating PAYE and NI, paying Child Support and Court Orders

  • Producing payroll reports when required

  • Working closely with the Accounts team to ensure reconciliation of payroll and other tasks as necessary

  • Overseeing the administration of benefit schemes such as Childcare Vouchers, Buying and Selling Holiday scheme and Cycle to work

  • Effectively plan for abnormal payroll weeks such as bank holidays, Christmas and annual leave and communicate requirements to managers as necessary

  • Ensure all payroll related communications are sent to the relevant managers and employees

  • Taking the lead in ensuring that Flex SOX compliance is in place across throughout the payroll process, working with the finance team as necessary

  • Taking responsibility for maintaining accurate and SOX compliant archiving records

  • Improving ways of working and efficiency in the payroll process, suggesting and introducing new ideas and processes ensuring accuracy and attention to detail is prioritised at all times.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Previous experience in operating/administering payroll for a manufacturing organisation

  • Ideally use of Sage payroll system (particularly Sage People)

  • Ability to organise workload and use initiative

  • Confident under pressure and able to handle multifaceted objectives (conflicting priorities, challenging deadlines, demanding workload)

  • Ability to delegate tasks

  • High level of organisation

  • Efficient with thorough methods of working
