Key Accountabilities - Job Description

Safety / Compliance

  • Performs with integrity and a safety focus; participates in safety meetings, identifies and corrects hazards, and performs duties responsibly.
  • Carries out policies, including the Code of Business Ethics, Supply Chain Operating Principles, and Standards of Work.

Problem Solving / Collaborative Relationships

  • Drives cost savings, optimized inventories, reduced lead-times and process efficiencies by collaborating with associates, the shop network, Applied Solution Center, corporate, service centers and suppliers.
  • Maintains a high level of service to service centers, customers, corporate departments and vendors, including timely, accurate responses to inquiries and providing exceptional service to satisfy needs.

Continuous Improvement / Lean Concepts

  • Uses formal and informal tools and techniques to achieve operational excellence and continuous improvement. Maintains a constant focus on Lean fundamentals and continuous learning to improve performance, quality and efficiency of work processes.

Customer Service

  • Has sufficient knowledge of products and services and helps service centers / customers enthusiastically; communicates in a clear, concise, timely and professional manner and follows up as necessary; is always professional and represents the organization positively.
  • Central contact for Service Centers after the quoting process.  Works closely with the Applied Product Solution Center, Shops, and vendors to optimize inventory, manage capacity and reduce lead-times to ensure on-time deliveries.  Manage Service Center / Customer expectations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Job Requirements

Qualifications/ Education:

  • 3-5 years of proven customer service experience
  • Experience with enclosed gearing, linear products and/or industrial/hydraulic hose and fittings

 

Business and/or Functional Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Persuasive communicator / strong facilitator / structured and logical thinker
  • Ability to challenge the status quo
  • Self-directed
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid computer skills:  Excel, Word, Power Point, etc
  • SAP Experience preferred
  • Buying / Inventory Mgt / Customer Service experience preferred
  • Can successfully multi-task
  • Possesses a “Can Do” attitude
  • Team player

Experience (years) :

1-3 years business, purchasing, customer service experience
